Despite what your tastebuds may prefer, the best way to take your coffee is plain old black, according to Hunnes. "Coffee, consumed black, will provide the greatest health benefits due to its high concentration of polyphenols, flavanols, and phytonutrients," she explains. These nutrients "may help to promote health, reduce inflammation, preserve weight, and prolong longevity," she adds. To be honest, who would have thought that drinking coffee could be so beneficial for you?
You may like to add sweeteners, creams, or syrups to your coffee, if you enjoy doing so. However, black coffee offers you almost no harm, in addition to being much healthier for you overall. Studies have proven that sugar causes plenty of inflammation in addition to piling on the pounds.
